The Remuhipe language family consisted of several languages spoken mostly along the Eastern seaboard of Ruñosañe, the major continent of Rireinu. One of these was Harutire, the language spoken in the city of Haru and its hinterland. When the Great War (2209—19ye.) led to the ascendancy of the Federation of Haru its language, Harutire, was adopted as the language of administration and education for the planet-spanning superstate. At that time, the worst quirks of Harutire were regularised away and the new standard form of language renamed Rireinutire, to match its role as the global language.

In the five centuries since, all the other languages of Rireinu, both Remuhipe and other families, have died out. They are still studied in universities, of course.
