No details at all? *sadnessaris*
I think the geographic term you're looking for is 'minorly/moderately isolating'. As for the family, so as far as age/size goes, ≈ precolonial Germanic?
Even dDiscounting…
How many branches are currently planned for Jalvic? Not necessarily meaning you have notes on, just overall. I hear you on the redesigns, I've been "in the process" of rebooting the Steppe branch of Shiffaractean (Drydic's original home) for about 4-5 years now.

I do like the redone phonology. Perhaps a bit too symmetrical, but that's not unknown. Plus you came out right at the top with that so you're golden. What kind of vowels is it of having? Do you think you'll end up using the original mostly as-is as the proto-lang, and then just weird the daughters? Or weird the source up beforehand?

Age/size: Maybe more like Semitic?

I don't know whether I'm really going to have distinct branches rather than just a large dialect continuum. If I do, it will probably be three.

The proto-lang is probably going to be much more similar to the redesign than the original; mostly because it is easier to get there from the other end than if I tried expanding everything, which I would have to do if I used something like the original for the source language.
