Appearance

Humans came in all sort of shapes, but not sizes. Whether they walks on two legs or four, no human stood taller than 1,5 metre. Most humans begin to augment themselves when they reached age of maturity. Some augmentations are nearly imperecptible and some others are simply bizarre.

Humans technologies allow them to change themselves down to their genetic make up. Changing one's own sex is not unusual amongst human.

Reproduction

Humans have a division into sexes, but that is seldom utilized in procreation anymore. As can be seen in the Wilds, female humans are supposed to carry human embryo to maturity. In the cities, humans' augmented immune system has made it impossible for female citizens to carry even a zygote in their womb. Every new citizens are thus gestated in vitro. Most of the citizens embraced this unnatural method of. Those who want to carry their children as their nature intended has to give up their citizenzhip and live in the wilderness.

The Cities

At least 99 out of 100 humans lives in metropolitan areas that range from a normal city open to the air, to half submerged towering arcologies built before the White Flood. These citizens, live in a post scarcity society where all their basic needs are taken care off. The citizens engage in an energy based economy to fullfill their non basic needs.

The Wilderness

Not all humans embraced the progress of their society. Outside human cities, one can find reservations with varying degree of technological develoment and degree of hostility toward outsiders. Some reservations are simply living museums where humans from the cities can pretend to live in the past without all the comfort of modern technology. Some other reservations are inhabited by savages who isolate themselves and practice shoot-first-ask-later method when dealing with citizens.

During the scattering. Most of the savages agreed to let the citizens to transport them to the nearest habitable planet so that they may continue their self imposed technological restriction. To protect the savages from being exploited by other species, the citizens constructed a planetary defenses on each of the new reservation worlds.
