Four tones: /à ā á â/
(ɴ = nasalization — it's written this way to avoid conflict with the tone diacritics)
/ɿ ʮ/ are fricated vowels: [z̩ v̩]. Their realization varies: /ɿ/ can be any coronal fricative: it is usually apical, intermediate between [z̩] and [ʐ̩], but matches the POA of a preceding coronal consonant.
Front vowels are restricted in distribution: /a/ cannot appear after labials, /e/ cannot appear after retroflexes or velars, and /i/ cannot appear after any plosives but labial or palatal ones — however, /nĩ ɲĩ/ contrast. /l/ cannot appear before nasal vowels. /ⁿd/ is [ⁿdz] before /ɿ/, and /t d/ cannot appear before /ɿ/.
The syllable structure is CV, but fricated vowels and syllabic nasals can appear without a preceding consonant: /ɿ ʮ/ with no preceding consonant are [zɿ vʮ].
Consonants in the nasal series are realized as prenasalized stops before oral vowels and nasals before nasal vowels: /ma maɴ/ are [ⁿba maɴ].
