Consonants



- Labiovelar /kw gw/ turns into labial /p b/ without exception.

aquam > apam
linguam > limbam

- Aspirated plosive (from greek loan) turns into fricative.

schola > sxola
spatha > spasa

- All plosives turns into unvoiced fricatives near /s/

spasa > sfasa

- /s/ in turns are elided when it occurs near another fricative.

sfasa > fasa
sxola > xola

Vowel



- Short mid vowels /e o/ rose to /ɛ ɔ/
- Long mid vowels /e: o:/ and short closed vowels /i u/ merged into /e o/
- Long closed vowels /i: u:/ shortens into short closed vowels /i u/
- Long open vowel /a:/ merged with short open vowel /a/

The result is a seven vowel system /a e o ɛ ɔ i u/ written as <a e o è ò i u>

- /wi we wɛ/ turns into /u o ɔ/
