Vowels come in both long and short
Syllable structure:
(C)V(C) where the first (C) can be any consonant, the (V) can be any vowel, and the second (C) can be any consonant except /h/. codas are only permissible word-finally.
Stress:
Stress falls on the last heavy syllable. A heavy syllable is any syllable that either contains a long vowel or ends with a consonant.  if there is no heavy syllable, stress falls on the penultimate syllable in two-syllable words, and the antepenultimate in words of three or more syllables.
Allophony:
/k/ is pronounced as [k] before front vowels and [q] before back.
/t/ is pronounced before /i/
/r/ can be any of [ɾ] [ɺ] or [l]
Unstressed long vowels are about 1.5 times as long as unstressed short vowels. Stressed short vowels are about 1.2 times as long as unstressed short vowels. Stressed long vowels are about twice as long as unstressed short vowels.
