usage: usu. of a wooded or grassy hill, cf. hueton ("tor"), eresé ("hill range").

etymology: unknown, cf. perhaps Mittelic iam, Baerloni yüsim. The usual * root *mād-i appears only in Mádros etc.

inflection: 4th decl., prop. only in sg. (cf. máde), but plural forms avao, avâith are attested.—Kuelin, Soróké avaé, avaei, resolved form aveân appears once in Ins. inscr.
