I'm using this thread to keep track of my developments on Khıjaon, the conlang I'm creating for the fictional hebsehbahn species. Critiques and whatnot are welcome. I want to make sure Khıjaon doesn't resemble any human languages, because it is supposed to originate on an alien planet.
It should also be added it does have its own alphabet, I just haven't developed it yet.

Basic Grammar and Whatnot

To understand Khıjaon grammar, you must first know that all sentences and words are constructed from root words.

Here are the ones which tend to show up the most often.

• Beneficial | Kyhahb
• Detrimental | Kyhu
• Acceptable | Msah
• Refusable | Hxhahbt
• Agreeable | Nahshl
• Not Agreeable | Tyhehm
• Action indicator -ık

So for example, to say "I want:"
[Kheh'msah_kyhahb-ık]
This can be understood as "Acceptable because it will benefit (me, the speaker)." It can therefore be inferred the speakers wants this item, because they are addressing themself specifically.

• Kheh. Refers the following to the speaker. In other contexts, it is understood as "I," "me," "mine," etc.
• Msah. Specifies the following parameters as acceptable.
• Kyhahb. Gives reason. In this case, whatever the speaker is referring to is acceptable because it is beneficial.
• Ik. Indicates an action is taking place. Without it, the sentence would be describing the speaker, as opposed to the the speaker's actions (wanting is an action).

The fun thing about Khıjaon is you can switch root words around to create new sentences.
[Kheh'kyhahb_msah-ık]
This can be understood as "it is beneficial (to me, the speaker) because it is acceptable." It is used when the speaker wants something because it fulfills their expectations/needs, specifically, when they need something or value it highly.

Of course, if you wanted to say you do not want something...
[Hxhahbt-Kheh'msah_kyhahb-ık] OR [Kheh'kyhu-ık] is acceptable.
The different between these is the refusal in [Kheh'kyhu-ık] is implied (if something is detrimental to you, why would you want it), and the refusal in the first one is addressed. With that logic, [Kheh'msah_kyhahb-ık] means the same things as [Kheh'kyhab-ık]. There are situations where you want to address acceptability obviously, but in these cases you would do so only with the intent of being formal. Like if you were in the context of asking a favor.

From the root words above, we've created new words.

• To Want | Msah_kyhahb-ık
• To Not Want | Hxhahbt_kyhu-ık

• Desirable | Msah_kyhahb
• Undesirable | Hxhahbt_kyhu

Likewise...

• To Need | kyhahb_msah-ık
• To Not Need | Kyhu_hxhahbt-ık

• Neccessary | kyhahb_msah
• Unneccessary | Kyhu_hxhahbt
