b | d | ǰ | g |
m | n | ñ | γ |
| r | ř |
| s | š | x | | h |
v | z | ž |
w | l | y |
The exact value of *γ is unknown.
*ř was probably some kind of palatalized rhotic.
Vowels:
There's vowel harmony between the two sets of vowels.
In descendants that keep the vowel inventory intact the two sets are usually pronounced [i ə o u] and [ɪ a ɔ ʊ] and this was probably the case in Proto-Boorkhodic as well.
The maximal syllable structure is CCVʔ, though consonant clusters (n + stop, r/l + stop, r/l + voiceless fricative) occur only intervocalically.
The glottal stop can be alternatively analyzed as a vocalic prosody.
