Aerglè is a planet not much dissimilar to Earth, lost in a sea of stars. It exists in the Spheres of Ènnes, an alternative universe in which humankind colonized the stars in a future that now is preterite. Nobody exactly remembers how and when, but a group of humans, space traders and colonizers, made an emergency landing on Aerglè millennia ago. They managed to repair their spaceships to no avail, being forced to thrive in that planet. The world of Aerglè, however, was full of life, including a native civilization led by the warriorlike Azingurts. After a series of clashes, which included a long war, the humans prevailed and thrived, enslaving the remaining intelligent species after the Azingurts were pushed to extinction. The humans slightly terraformed Aerglè to make the world pleasant enough for them, and they introduced some species native to Earth. After many generations, these humans forget their origins, only remembering the Arrival and the taking of that new world. New cultures, ethnic groups, nations, and civilizations arose and fell, and history rolled on until today.

In their peak, these humans created the Eleuthean Empire which, after centuries of steady and fast development, was destroyed in the Dhaula Varlauve, the absurd ultimate destruction. The catastrophic event affected Eleuthea and much of Aerglè, killing millions of people and sweeping many cities, lands, and cultures. Now, that post-apocalyptic world is known to Ybrearmèlleans as 'Hodhesglerna "the great dark terror". Left behind an exodus of pain and sadness, nobody goes there any more.
    While the world that was left after the Dhaula Varlauve still lies in ruins, one individual, Riam, managed to save a large portion of Eleuthea's knowledge. Now, that legacy is safely guarded in the Ybrearmèlleon, a flat and round world created by Riam, by means of magic, within a spacetime bubble.
