I am using some browser named Silk (never heard of it from anywhere else) that comes with the Kindle Fire. Most things work just fine with it, but if there is spotty support for CSS3 line-breaking in other mobile browsers, then I would not be surprised if it had spotty support for it as well.

It's mobile WebKit, just like Android Chrome and iOS Safari. You can probably think of it as an outdated Iceweasel-analogue of Chrome for most purposes.
