* you can use whatever notation, so long as you say -- probably in another column -- what the notation being used is. the polite term for 'he made it up' is 'idiotic'
* consider the use of featural information, e.g. o + [+dental]_ for ur example
* if they're common enough, put in another column called something like CHAINS and give each chain an index -- langname+number so that group would be ARAPAHO0 or something
* endnotes

my passport is beat up from carrying it in my pocket every day for like 6-7 months. when i tried to get back into england, the customs officer made a withering comment but let me back in. Of course, England is my own country, I don't know what he'd have done otherwise.

i meant more 'the sport of cruising' as in 'I feel like I've almost lost faith entirely in the sport of cruising, for these companies, Royal Carribean, Norwegian Cruises, Cunard (and sad to say it), Carnival, Disney, etc have destroyed what we once thought of as deserving to be called a "cruise ship", a "liner.'
