I would be all for changing linking to posts so it is a link to the post in context like phpbb, rather than just a link to the post itself in isolation.

I'll work on the search thing.

As for emoticons—you can set your colour on the Settings page.

Search thing done. Also, if you have a permalink to a post, then clicking on the "return to thread" link will send you to the correct page. Similarly, deleting a post will send you to the page of the preceding post afterwards. Previously these two events sent you to the beginning of the thread.

So, when you submit an edit to a dictionary entry, you get
It's done.
Go back? {the entry in question}
Add another? {new entry}
Return to dictionary? {main dictionary page}
while when you submit an edit to a Tag (née Category), you get
It's done.

Go back to parent entry. {main dictionary page}

Go back to add another tag to the parent entry. {new tag/category}
Would it be possible to get a Go Back? on the Tag submission success page as well, bringing us to the category we just mutated? Maybe if possible the same order/linebreak style with both (either one of them, they're both perfectly fine by themselves)?

Greatly appreciated

next up:
I've been half-paying attention to trying to merge Tzuman Lexicon/particles into Tzuman Lexicon/Particles for a few hours now, and it kept not working…now through some stumbling around I've inadvertently managed to get all the words located in /particles into /Particles, so /particles can be safely deleted, but the warning on the checkbox for update all entries' Tags says, "Careful: if the target tag already exists, they will be merged. This may result in entries listing the same tag multiple times". This never happened, so ~*~*~*bug report*~*~*~!

That can only happen if the entry is already in both tags. Not a problem in your case! Emphasis on the "may."

So...the Tags won't actually get merged, then? Because that's what happened.

The rename will fail, but the entries should be re-tagged properly, leaving you with an empty tag. Perhaps the warning should say "the sets of tagged entries will merge" rather than the tags themselves.

Ahh, ok. That's exactly what happened. At least that's how it ended up. It got a little weird in the middle.

Implemented preferred links: universes, languages, chapters, language families, and user profiles will show up as name-based links (in most places) instead of ID-based links whenever they have the lowest ID number of pages with the same name. If there are other pages with the same name but a lower ID number, the site will use ID-based numbering like usual. Hopefully this will promote the usage (and convenience) of name-based linking.

Beware, though: because of this, someone can steal a named URL by reassigning an older post to have the same title. If you post a link to your constuff outside of Anthologica (or even on the forums) be aware that a name link may end up pointing elsewhere if someone feels mean or sneaky. If Nort (or someone else, but probably Nort) decides he has a god-given obligation to abuse this (or if people petition loudly enough) then I'll add an official name registry that supersedes the lowest-ID-number rule.
