Dictionary bugs
Following on from IRC:
This probably supports it being something with unicode; I just tried to make a test entry for < -ō >, and it redirected me to the preexisting entry for < -o >.
I also tested by resubmitting alǰin via the single-entry addition form, and it showed up perfectly as it should.

How can you go to the oldest unread post in a thread, and if you can, can it be made substantially more obvious as to how to do so? If you cannot do so, can this functionality please be added and made obvious, as we really do need this?

You can't. Clicking on the thread title will do that. The current behaviour is to jump to the last post, which is temporary. Again, it requires doing the math to figure out what page that post is on.

...yeaaaaaahhhhhhhh...

The name collision thing is a MySQLism that I haven't figured out how to shut off yet. It wants to pretend that diacritics aren't real, based on its misguided faith in the orthographies of certain European languages. In theory it's a matter of setting the right country for the collation order, but I haven't figured out what it is yet or how to make it actually obey.

Personally, I rather not have a ranks or title that is determined by post count.
And... do we really need smilies and/or signatures?

PS: Tagging for thread tho. That would be awesome.

utf8_bin or utf8_general? The former collates by character codepoint, AFAIK, so it should be unambiguous.

Also, after editing this post, I was forwarded to *http://atlas.runi.ca/?id=87&posts_pagenum=0#428, however, it should be http://atlas.runi.ca/?id=87&posts_pagenum=60#428, i.e. $post_pagenum = int($posts_in_thread/$posts_per_page)*$posts_per_page.

Okay. I'll give that a shot.

And, yes, again, anything involving actually calculating the post index isn't implemented yet. Soon!

In the mean time I've added deletion features, so you can blow your foot off. Thread deletion is a little buggy still, but whole universes can now be destroyed with a few clicks (you have to remove everything within them first, for safety, but wiki sections are recursively deletable and will remove everything down to dictionary entries.) Forum posts should be removable without any difficulty.

Yay!

I found I couldn't delete my test dictionary entries last night, so I just edited them into different entries, which proved just as easy or easier than delete old/create new would be.

The entry itself is fine, and as it is written now it displays perfectly in the dictionary, but if I put a period after lit, the rest of the entry ceases to be visible in the dictionary, while displaying as it should when viewed alone.

Would it be helpful if we tried putting a minor/medium/severe bug in the topic or post? There's been a few times I've felt bad posting a minor bug, and it's delayed work on major ones. </ramble>

edit: hah, got so used to just doing this last night I forgot it. When I open an existing dictionary entry to edit it (this doesn't occur with the Add Entry or Dictionary Importer), an additional line break gets added. I can delete it just fine before saving it though.

Actually the period thing was deliberate! The idea was that you'd only show the first sentence, and have to click on the entry name to see more. I'll disable it for Atlas though.

I'm pretty sure the linebreak is actually added by the importer, but I'll take a look at it.

Okay! I believe I've fixed all of the post count related bugs. They were:

1) going to the next (blank) page when filling up a page
2) edits don't redirect to your post afterwards
3) thread titles should jump to the last unread post

Rejoice! Or don't.

Really?

Okay... it's still a little buggy. Sometimes it goes to the second unread post instead of the first one. (At first I thought it was only at the start of a thread, but it can happen at the start of any page, it seems? Though not always?) Not sure why. Still—an improvement.

Dictionaries will now correctly sort entries with unicode in their names, but will not treat accented characters as identical. Will do this for other lists on the site (e.g. wiki categories, universes...) if/when it is required.

Has the redirect after initial posting hiccuped or something? I finally tried to see if it worked for me (I normally just click redirect links), but it isn't working on Firefox or Chromium. I have autoallow redirects disallowed on Firefox (god I wish they'd left the exception list in there), but the redirect seemingly never fires, since the 'Firefox prevented this site from redirecting...' bar never shows.

I am having problems where I am having erroneous collisions upon trying to import entries into my dictionary, where the importer is saying that entries collide with other entries that do not exist.

My dictionary I am using.
