Yes and no. Mostly no:

Maybe in a century or two. For the time being I'll just make the default value "The Distant Future," since precious few people actually have IPv6.

Neither should happen. I might turn the Super Inefficient Perpetual Post Count Calculation Magic back on, though, just to force Nort into a post count disarmament treaty.

Could that be because I have IPv6?

EDIT: Ah, yes, when I use my uni's VPN, it lets me choose between "Germany" and "Marburg, Germany".
Added [!no_emote].

"ius migrationis" is sort of like permission to immigrate, isn't it?

I already went ahead and did the aristocrats and scholars; the scale is binary logarithmic (with the first rank at 8 I think?) so there's a lot of emphasis on having a lot of very lousy low tiers. Definitely will add the other two.

I have my suspicious doubts about that fire icon—several of those traditional symbols look pretty arduous for most media.

This is so your location info stays accurate while travelling... even if borders change. I figured this community would appreciate that feature more than most others.

Yep, you've got it all correct. Good catch on the username limit—I think it's something extreme like 255 characters. Profile pages are associated with users by using ID numbers (it's a special field on the user account); right now they only update their titles (to match your name) when you edit them.

I'm surprised the front page is actually inconsistent in which it uses though—will need to work on that.

Also still working on the post rank stuff.

Test thread! (2014-04-29 01:05:30) :
Here's the missing piece of logic: when you create a profile page, it's associated with your user account using ID numbers. The name on the profile page normally updates only when you edit it.

I'll work on code to auto-update profile pages, and switch avatars to rely user ID numbers instead of usernames.

Are you done with your test accounts? I can delete them if so, just to keep things clean.

Bugs and missing features (2014-04-28 22:41:58) :
It should no longer be possible to alter your post count by specifying extra fields in the font override box. (I'm fairly impressed Nort figured that out.)

Passwords must now be typed twice to set them to a new value. (Beware—a username change can succeed even if a password change fails.)

There is no sort-by-postcount. That requires a few things I haven't implemented yet.

Yeah, that's sort of a matter of how the pen is used. Depending on the stylistic properties it can also look [http://samantha-wright.deviantart.com/art/Lilitika-Article-One-316426067|more Hieriatic]. A lot of letters have two forms: one that's more bulky and Egyptian, and a narrower shape that fits the Tolkienian aesthetic better. My ultimate goal is to create something as flexible and flowy as Arabic, but that'll probably require at least one more set of variants for almost all of the letters.

Request for ideas: redesigning forum posts :
Two ideas are on the table:

1. Post count rank titles, a tradition of many fora. A couple of people have suggested this. My personal experience has been that they heap status on the posts of regular users in much the same way medals heap status on the chests of grizzled war veterans, which can have both negative and positive effects.

2. Location approximation. I know aaaaall of your IP addresses (obviously), and while posting them in full in public would just be rude, they coul...
