Cyrillic question/advice (2016-07-29 15:29:15) :
Peanut gallery response of no critical import: this looks amazing. Most attempts at geometric constructivist typography start with something similar, but they never turn out terribly well; in particular, designers tend to get upset about the tipsy look of the S.

I wouldn't bend head over heels to worry about readability, as it makes perfect sense that some of the characters would be rendered horribly on a device being pushed near its limits, especially a) if it were imported or b) if it...

Celebratory Diplo Game! (2016-07-29 15:14:57) :
But why did you bother constructing a set of one item for a position that only permits one item?

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2016-07-17 15:12:02) :
Thanks to the power of twabsishness, a long-standing and irredeemably irrelevant Webkit bug has been solved. Anchor tags in forum threads were causing the tops of posts to get cut off for the dumbest conceivable reason. Yay.

H13lang Scratchpad (2016-02-15 21:47:10) :

Flags (2016-02-10 17:39:24) :
Personally, I think you should stick with the animated GIF.

...The badger flag is great, but what an idea.

Phonemic Overrepresentation and Underrepresentation in Certain Type of Languages (2016-02-10 15:42:17) :
...Because I just so happen to be studying natural language processing right now, there are more sophisticated alternatives to raw subtraction that tell you useful things like mutual information. The [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jensen%E2%80%93Shannon_divergence|Jensen–Shannon divergence] is probably the most appropriate; it's related to the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kullback%E2%80%93Leibler_divergence|Kullback–Leibler divergence]—which tells you how many extra bits would be required for ...

It really only has to be like 100-200 words, guys. Super minimal effort here.

David Peterson interview at Slashdot :
I have no idea how highly the community thinks of this guy, but we can't help but note his success; Slashdot is currently in the process of [http://interviews.slashdot.org/story/16/01/18/1745257/interviews-ask-david-peterson-about-inventing-languages|accumulating interview questions] to throw at him. For those not in the know, Peterson is responsible for the conlangs in Game of Thrones and some other recent fantasy and sf TV things where the original authors didn't bother coming up with w...

Pretty Scripties Showcase Thread (2014-10-10 09:03:05) :
The documentation is [http://memory.rhetori.ca/?id=304|here], though the letterforms aren't quite like the ones I've been showing off here:

- the <y> I used here is a compromise between the two <y> forms listed on the site
- many of the <o>s don't close all the way
- the <m>s and <n>s are wider
- accents: I used vertical ticks underneath letters to represent /i/ diphthongs, vertical ticks above letters to represent stress, and the word "hemaya" ...

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2015-12-13 22:11:26) :
As a stop-gap, I'd recommend exporting your file as comma-separated values, opening the result in Notepad, and search-and-replacing the commas with [!td] tags; you can then run down the lines and add [!tr] tags to each one. No need for closing tags, except for [!/table]. If your data contains commas, save it as tab-separated values and then copy and paste a tab into the search-and-replace box.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2015-11-23 15:31:59) :
Awkwardness! Annie's front page was unable to load for a few days because I blew up a legitimate user while removing spam—it couldn't process the fact that there was a universe belonging to a deleted account. Whoever owns Sharrda, I'm super sorry, and if you ever see this, email me at hexadecima@gmail.com and I promise I'll get it back to you!

Added support for /24 bans. Creating a user profile is now mandatory for posting in the forums. Fiddled with obfuscation on registration page. (Thanks, you automated assholes.)
