happiness thread (2014-06-20 15:35:02) :
...personally I think the blue one works slightly better because of its contouring, though the white one might be safer if you have reason to believe the bridal shower will be obsessively decorated by someone who lives in an Ikea catalogue. If you were planning on wearing one of the two to the bridal shower, as Kath assumed, that is.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-20 12:45:27) :
Improved display of forum posts on mobile layout; fixed a bug that was causing very empty user profiles (e.g. miekko's) to render the footer too high up. (Look grandma, I'm using tables for layout like it's 1997 because stupid CSS isn't Turing-complete!)

Test thread! (2014-06-20 12:18:48) :
...I don't think your aspect ratio adjustments are necessarily an improvement :P

Basically, I stumbled onto Leeloo first in my silly images folder while upscaling Testament's avatar. So... there was improvement. I think I'll abandon my time-honoured tradition of shaming people who forgot their passwords by subjecting them to Spaceballs jokes; the Fifth Element just has too much to offer.

The improvement continues.

This is a placeholder post for reminding you to make a frickin' wiki.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-20 11:00:40) :
Still on the lookout for whatever causes the exponential ramp-up in reported comment count on news posts. (Gadzooks.)

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-20 10:58:19) :
Added caching of generated formatting for linear posts and news posts. The speed improvement was less dramatic than I expected, but there is still a bit of one.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-20 10:36:46) :
Removed. Also fixed a problem where jumping to the end would cause previous/next links to retain the page offset (e.g. hitting "next" when the end was at posts_pagenum=57 would take you to posts_pagenum=37.) This was causing the page links to not indicate where you were. Changed so that previous/next always force integral page offsets.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-20 09:21:54) :
Heh, no. It's a bug Cev discovered. Threads with between 21 and 39 posts (inclusive) weren't showing page navigation links at all. Fixing it shortly.

Absences (2014-06-19 23:02:52) :
That really sucks! But, hey, it's just 11 days, yeah? Could be worse.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-19 22:59:12) :
I've implemented the fix for dictionary tags. I can now load the Proto-Søkkli full-view page really, really fast. Enjoy.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-19 22:18:02) :
That behaviour was present for five or ten minutes while I was implementing it; it was sending you to a page starting right after the last post in the thread. I replaced it with the logic used by the thread list to determine the first unread post. That's well-tested code that shouldn't cause any such issue.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-19 21:37:36) :
It used to only happen with Proto-Søkkli's nouns category, but now that we have HTMLPurifier intercepting every WF Markup call (each word requires at least one), smaller categories have gotten problematic. [strike]My brilliant[/strike] The obvious solution: only run the markup parser once, after all of the entries have returned their text.

Bugs, Requests, and Changes (2014-06-19 21:34:41) :
Added "end" and "continue" links to make it less confusing when you jump into a forum thread.

I have a new idea about the way tags are processed; there's a good chance it'll have an overall speed-up effect on dictionary display. I'll take a shot at it in a little bit.

Angry Rant Thread (2014-06-19 16:52:40) :
Zontas: Pharazon decided that #isharia was not a good fit for you. You're not banned forever, but the general opinion was that you would benefit from some encouragement to explore other social venues, especially ones where the average age wasn't so far away from your own. I know it seems unfair, but I wouldn't have let it happen if I thought it would do more harm than good. While it may be hard to appreciate now, I really do think you'll eventually be grateful that it happened.

Articles will now notify the members of the group if:

a) an attachment is added
b) the page is deleted
c) the user checks the "notify" checkbox when making an edit

This seems to me like a good balance that should require a minimum of fiddling.

Yyyyes and no. My office workstation was suffering noticeably, though it was still a relatively small penalty—but that's because the graphics card in it is a Quadro K2000D with the proprietary drivers, and has absolutely no excuse to chug ever.

According to user reports, yes. It's okay on my end but that's with fairly optimal acceleration. Linux FF doesn't do so well.
