Vokram Speaks! (2015-01-24 18:18:43) :
<Aegean> "Keep acting like sluts and sucking from emerging" is a good one. I'll use it to mean that one must take what it has because there's no better future on the horizon, that it's time to survive with whatever one finds.

Aegean has been enlightened by The Red Pill.

I'm posting these tonight with the intention of translating them into Classical Quazian tomorrow morning. They cover a wide range of grammatical and semantic situations and may provide amusing example sentences for your reference grammars.

Anthologica Diplomacy -- Winter Edition (2015-01-19 09:19:41) :
I'm not sure. France is clearly in a precarious position- England can force a grab of Warsaw and Belgium this turn with no difficulty. France would have a net gain of 0 units in Winter 1910-1911. Brest, Spain and Portugal could go within a couple of game years, which would all make 16 centers for England. Paris and Marseille, which Turkey has little hope of reaching, would make 18.

It's not clearly a stalemate, is what I'm saying. Only Rad's reluctance to stab Miekko makes it one.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I will be on Christmas Break starting on Friday, and that will give me a lot of time to input things from dictionaries. Morrígan, is there any chance of us having a firmer grasp on what that will look like?

I've thought about a variant before where Switzerland is occupied at the start by a neutral super-army with a strength of three which holds every turn. It must be ousted by a strength of at least four to be moved into, but after that, Switzerland acts as a neutral territory.

Interesting features thread (2014-11-25 13:26:14) :
Modern Quazian has a ten-vowel system split into front (/i e æ y ø/) and back (/ɯ ɤ ɑ u o/) vowels. A single word can switch vowel classes as part of its inflectional routine, like so:

ŋakka "word (nom.)"
ŋäkkää "word (acc.)"

where Classical Quazian had ŋak'a and ŋak'a ja; later the accusative clitic ja merged with the preceding word and the -j- deleted, turning the preceding vowel into a front vowel. Since the penult was stressed, ...

Unfortunately, the page that I used to make that is having a random 502 error at the moment. We'll try later.

Would be interesting to see a probable electoral college map for that setup. I feel like we'd have a lot more swing states, because every single state would be guaranteed to have a major metro area as well as, in most cases, a large hinterland. Would Minneapolis still be a Democratic stronghold now that it's swallowed up most of the Dakotas? Would the various states of Texas sti...
