I would use [b]nanka[/b] in mild circumstances. Generally speaking, the vocative [b]ya[/b] would also be useful in mild situations.

kotsa – epithet; similar to “bastard”, “bitch” or “asshole” (from ko (agentive) and tsaya)
kuna – shit (lit: to defecate)
kyosa – fornicate; have sex
nanka – general invective; “Damn it!”
tsaya (-tsa) – general invective; “Fuck!”, “Damn!”, or “Shit!”

This article is decently written and demonstrates that Pthag is more right than others. I'll say this, to me, the distinguishment has always been ingredients and freshness...this is probably due to me living in the Eastern US for most of my life and the short time that I did live in the Southwest was spent in awe of how fresh and authentic the taquerias were...that's just me though.
