Great...you've managed to make me realize that I'm dumb and untalented in the span of a posts. Imma just go make a cipherlang and use the masonic alphabet...

Well, the terrain is SRTM30 data, but I had to do come up with an elevation gradient. Also, the rivers were drawn by hand ;_;
The River-Plains Nation consists of a collection of chiefdoms occupying much of the territory between the major rivers in the north, and the mountains in the south. They have uneasy relations with the Malkh kingdoms (and Tuaxi, to a lesser extent), whom they have partly displaced over several centuries.
The Aspawatam are semi-nomadic horsemen, famed as charioteers. Their in...

I keep forgetting about the cheese part, because I can't eat it in anything like the quantities most people (in this culture at least) do. So I always tell whoever to leave it out.

I don't know if I ever had enough vocabulary for one, but I can kludge this together:
Qoqqkyuk seems downright usable for a first conlang, all things considered. Where’d that single geminate /k/ come from, though?
Probably because (a) kok'of[note]which is how that's supposed to be spelled in my last post... *grumbles*[/note] and (b) I had arbitrarily spelled /x/ as <k''> and I wanted an intermediate letter.

This article is decently written and demonstrates that Pthag is more right than others. I'll say this, to me, the distinguishment has always been ingredients and freshness...this is probably due to me living in the Eastern US for most of my life and the short time that I did live in the Southwest was spent in awe of how fresh and authentic the taquerias were...that's just me though.

even i know that this 'heat is the distinguishing feature' thing is nonsense
the presence of cheese [esp. cheeses which are not white] and 'barbeque' ingredients [incl. beeeeeeeeeeeeeef] is more likely an indicator you are eating texmex, is it not

[#126364|I'm still embarassed by this.] It's not my worst, but that conlang was deliberately annihilated.
An example doesn't really matter, if you want just imagine what crappily-translated Latin would be and substitute as-needed.
