ADD INCHES TO YOUR DICTIONARY OVERNIGHT (2014-10-28 07:16:28) :
I pretty much lack that itch, to be honest, probably mostly because a lot of my conlangs are extremely regular in their morphophonology. The language of mine with the biggest lexicon is Jalvaan, which is very in love with stem (and tone) alterations; that lexicon, however, only has about 200 entries.

Well, maybe the first paragraph was wrong. I lack that itch, but the appeal of irregularity can interest me anyway.

Anyway, dictionary expansion with me is mostly with poetic names...

I'm currently upset because I'll never 1) have sex with myself when I was 23 and a cute boy and 2) meet my evil twin and have a life-long open relationship with her and her bangs.

ADD INCHES TO YOUR DICTIONARY OVERNIGHT :
Because the only true widely-accepted measures of a conlang's quality are "how Asian is your phonology" and "how big is your dictionary," and I loathe tones, it's time for a thread about my all-time favourite topic: lexicon padding.

There are two reliable sources of words: deriving stuff by gluing affixes onto pre-existing words and trawling through mountains of technical vocabulary to tease out neat things. For example, in Lilitika, I added an almost completely regular list of chemical...

I don't regret it at all! The best part of autocorrect is contaminating its dictionary with a bunch of conlang words and discovering it now thinks that slight mistakes are suddenly barely-related shút.

What the fuck kind of autocorrect is that and why do you even have it turned on? I live in a world without autocorrect. and T9 phones. It's like an alternate universe kind of, which maybe means that I'm the evil twin?

And in the other universe, the me is cisgender, and kind of tomboyish and has bangs, and is a vegetarian, and has a bunch of tattoos and snakebite piercings and is totally comfortable with her sexuality.

If you’re running a newer windows computer, you’d want the »Planetary Climate Sim for Win32« version linked at the very bottom of the page rather than the main version linked above it. It works on my computer from 2014, though I’ve no idea if any versions still work as far as non-Windows machines go.

If it’s just climate simulations you need, I’d suggest the Planetary Climate Sim over at the Observatory might be a better place to start. Much more detailed input and output, with none of the problems mentioned above — though it is mostly intended for Earthlike planets. For Venus it still underestimates the temperature at about 100C, presumably because the only clouds it takes into account are water clouds.
