The only part of California I've seen included more than twice in some 'serious' definitions of Cascadia is the northenmost edge of the state (more or less according to the bioregion's southern limits), or the California part of that proposed Jefferson state.

...wait, California isn't part-and-parcel part of Cascadia? Huh. Oops. My bad. I guess that makes more sense. (Although by "stoners" and "Microsoft employees" I was trying to allude to BC and Washington respectively.)

Sounds good! And, actually, I have one more request, maybe; the ability to specify multiple rules files and have the outputs be saved in an interleaved format. E.g.
word 1 ruleset 1
word 1 ruleset 2
word 1 ruleset 3
word 2 ruleset 1
word 2 ruleset 2
word 3 ruleset 3
... etc.
This would be greatly preferable to running the SCA a dozen times for a basic inflection profile.
A lot of times, the program may only get run with one or two w...

That's an interesting idea, but it also means that both sets have to have the same number of entries. That might be a reasonable extension of the approach under discussion. I've already created a ticket for this on Github.
Syllable-break detection is an interesting problem. I think providing a syllable template would give us a good place to start. The biggest problem is that none of my tools actually handle supersegmental features correctly, or know what a syllable is.

Sound Change Appliers (2014-08-29 14:04:10) :
Take it a step further: permit class permutation at the same time.
(C)(N) > $C2$N1
Where the index in the set N is used to look up the index in C. So if C = {p t k} and N = {m n ŋ} this would swap the place of articulation without disturbing the mode.
If you add this, then I can retire happily and not write klank at all, confident that you've got all the bases covered, and it'll just be a matter of writing a wrapper module for the HT SCA and building a front-end tha...

The Historical Linguistics Thread (2014-08-29 12:58:26) :
Yeah, I still haven't ended up implementing RUKI in Scythian…it desperately needs attention, the bulk of the work done on it is from 8-9 years ago, I'm almost embarrassed by it courtesy of what I've learned since then.
Also, it's a historical linguistics thread, of course conIElangs are going to come up :3

The Historical Linguistics Thread (2014-08-29 12:51:51) :
Not to derail the thread, but I decided to make (what used to be) Kuma-Koban to Centum because I really wanted to split the labiovelars and decided it was too unrealistic to be as much of a Centum-Satem hybrid as it was - also, I decided I didn't really like the way RUKI affected the language.
So I decided it would be Centum, but later experience secondary palatalization of the plain velars in a somewhat Satem-esque manner. I'll start a thread, eventually.

Yeah I'm happy now, but I'm not celebrating yet. My levels have a tendency to fluctuate wildly on a not-quite-consistent-but-roughly 2wks-2mo cycle, I'm currently in a low part. Hopefully it doesn't spike again, but I'm not assuming it won't.

That was basically my response to the questioning of my keeping them separate, which I hadn't even explicitly realized I'd done, frankly.
The not giving a shit, not changing it to Centum.
Also for the record Old Ganžas (Scythian's in-world ancestor) did not have extant č ǰ, but not because of anyone saying *ḱ ǵ couldn't become those.

If it makes you feel any better, Kuma-Koban had tɕʰ tɕ dʑ as reflexes of the palatovelars, and I don't give a shit. I'm gonna change it, but because I decided to make it Centum.
