Well, no, they're not simply longer; you made an attempt at preserving the metre of the text (and so should anyone translating them), which is an added challenge; by contrast we haven't been taking the syllable constraints on the haiku very seriously. (I'm also pretty sure the sentence structure in the Odyssey intro is comparable to Nessari's original quotation of Anguipes.)
But by all means, do continue to make whole separate threads for big projects like that. I'm definitely st...

I wanted to shy away from that because I don't like the idea of polluting universe pages with site interface stuff—it kinda goes against the spirit of giving as much control to the user as possible. But, as a trial run, I've added a bunch of stuff ...

Kinda agree with Travis on this one—it makes a lot more sense to keep the nastier texts here. Also, I am so gonna do both of these.

All those IRC quotes. Has nobody posted anything funny on the forums yet?

Gravatar does actual format conversion if asked, so I'm not completely certain it's the same thing. And, yes, the only constraint this whole time on avatar formats has been that I was too lazy to record the file extension properly, which any Imgur user will tell you is an insignificant formality. Go forth and abuse translucency, my children!
Huh? My avatar is a PNG. The server thinks it's a JPEG, but browsers do not really care about the extension or the MIME type.
In that case, the information on the avatar-uploading page is outdated. Because that still says that only JPEGs are accepted as avatars (my Gravatar is a PNG, too, and that's not a problem).

We've been yelling at Rhetorica about this for a while. It is on the priority list.
...at least it better be.

Why does the page you go to after submitting an entry to a dictionary redirect you straight away? I don't have time to click the 'add another entry' button.

Maps, Photoshop, and You :
For featuring [[Şerau Teršelainja]] on Anthologica's front page, since Nessari didn't have a photogenic picture already on hand, I decided to whip up a version of her available map in Photoshop that I thought would look decent. (Because a meddlesome dictator is a good dictator, right?) It's a relatively simple formula that I think should be easy for anyone to apply. You can see the whole map here:
