now ur not even asking questions anymore, mr. bobblehead
except the inconsistency thing. politically, i am in favour of, and mostly in this order, a) things which benefit me, or b) at least do not scare me, or c) if they do scare me, at least have a payoff to benefit me in the end, or then finally d) scare bad people a lot. I think some people put d) a lot higher.
most political values are phantoms, that exist either on high intellectual levels, or in low blood-and-soil levels....

Oh my Dawkins (I'm Atheist, deal with it) (2014-04-28 15:10:52) :
I like how even though he was banned after a democratic vote of all the regulars, of which I agreed that I would accept a decision of "don't ban" from the demos should that be the result, which it wasn't, it's somehow still entirely on my head.
Hey that reminds me, remember the other day when Rhetorica and Pharazon tried unbanning him-- against the decision of the vote-- simply to try to piss me off? I wonder how Nessari feels about shit like that? Or any of the other people who despise...

i can't find the "pure intentions" quote. as for "good intentions", his opinion of them is very different -- and he's not concerned with intentions as much as the systems that produce them and the effects they produce. if i understood deleuze i think this is the place where i would start spewing french jargon, but i do not.
so:
It is good in intention and malicious in effect.
This combination is very common, because it effectively allows evil conspiracies to form wit...

I guess if you don't accept "he's a needlessly and intentionally cruel person who derives pleasure from inflicting pain and distress by his own free admission" as a reason to ban him, then yeah the only reason would be making Cev unhappy.

Marx articles tracker (2014-04-28 03:22:10) :
everybody's inconsistent. the question is, in what ways are you inconsistent, and does it make sense to be inconsistent in those ways? since christians were at their christian best while being persecuted by pagan empires, this seems to be less about ideology than personal idiosyncrasies. there are obviously marxists who don't want to lose their lives, like when brecht was caught. maybe these people are bad marxists, but most christians may be worse christians, by their own admission, than the mi...
Nah, it was elsewhere. The only #isharia ban I've had a hand in was MrSaturday.
:(
Hey, speaking of which, what's up with that? Saturday has been theoretically banned since like, 2007 or so, if most of that period unenforcedly. And yet there he remains, out on the sidelines, somewhere in the nebulous ætherspace of the interstices of the community, always ready to interject with his patented abusively dismissive tetrahydrocannabinol-driven sludge. I can ...

Bugs and missing features (2014-04-28 02:58:14) :
Renamed Dictionary Categories to Dictionary Tags, to try and prevent confusion with lexical categories/parts of speech. This may cause bugs in the importer or normal dictionary function, although I think I updated everything consistently. Please let me know if you spot anything weird and I'll fix it right away.

So, I've got a large reading list to get through, but I can't always be assed to actually get much reading done, because I have lots of schoolwork, and when I'm not doing schoolwork I feel more like relaxing with a nice game of Minecraft. I've resolved to change this, but thought it might be fun to start a book club. Would anybody be interested? We'd rotate who chooses each month's book (perhaps we'd have two people choose books, to give people a choice), then read and discuss them.
