...I think that probably crosses the line into inappropriate, even by my most laissez-faire standards. I won't remove it right away if you say nothing, but I think you should probably at least include a sharper warning.

You're doing it again. Extrapolating from pthag's statements is usually a bad idea.

...wow. Talk about on-tap implementation!

Also: yay for no longer having to actually read threads I don't care about just to make the new posts announcement go away.
It would also be useful to have a way to mark things as read besides actually looking at a list of posts.
Done. "mark as read" will now appear in the top bar on all threads, forums and the forum index page (although for technical reasons it appears below that on the forum index page, since it's not really a page mode.)

A checkbox has been added to the dictionary category edit page that will cause words to be updated to match any name changes to the category. No more hours of manually editing everything ever because you decided you wanted to capitalise your parts of speech!

explain, then, the phenomenon of people still transferring at heathrow

(the explanation is that they are masochists and cannot live without something to be loudly miserable about. this is the same reason people set out to live in horrible marshlands, and, given the pool i am drawing from here, those two phenomena must be related.)
