I overflow with love for all that is Anthologica.

I merely ask for the same right that any spouse not in the mood at the moment has. Surely thou wouldst not perpetrate such domestic violence no matter how terrible and salmoneally overblown a metaphor it might be?

(But okay, thanks.)

How do you disable parsing on sections of text?

You can repress the parsing of individual tags by interrupting them with an exclamation mark: [box][/box], and repress emoticons in a forum post with [no_emote]. With the sole exception of the interlinear glossing stuff, the parser is one-pass and completely stateless, so there isn't currently a way of shielding a whole section. The wikka parser, however, will let you repress it, I think.

We now have two kinds of notes: inline notes+these are indicated using [plus]blah[/plus] and footnotes.1 Enjoy.

also these still work

Having more than one [plus][/plus] per linebreak puts everything between the first opening [plus] and the last closing [/plus] into the mouseover note, regardless of how many opening and closing [plus]usses there are inside.

Not sure if these were tested, but both [plus] and [note] work perfectly fine in dictionary entries, as well as on the main dictionary and category pages.

Cool your jets, sparky. They revert to inline mode on mobile now. Nice and plain. If you want, I'll implement a special "Aino Meilani mode" that displays literal parentheses instead so you can continue to be peacefully oblivious to the narcissistic indulgences of the internet age.

Hey, you should make it so that inline notes close to the right edge of the page go to the left instead. I made this page, and if you look at the note at the end of the fifth paragraph, it's all squished against the edge of the page.

I have a somewhat clunky solution implemented—though it causes the text to reflow and makes nested plus notes futile. Opinions? It's either this or notes on the right get squashed; there's no way of fixing it to look right in CSS.

...okay, technically there's door #3, using an actual tooltip hover text thingy, but that means no formatting at all.

Why're the plus notes on the right-hand side of the posts?

I really think the best solution is shove a few more words in prior to the note, push it onto a new line.
