The space before the comma in rank/location got fixed before, right? Either way it's back now.

…I guess it'll show on this post too, thus rendering the link pointless. Oh well.

Metahalloween is the new Christmas. Added pretty backgrounds to forum posts, mainly because the site wasn't already slow enough.

The site loads reasonably fast on my computer, but on the phone? Ew.

...Mostly this just affects the server-side performance.

So…what are they supposed to be? I'm only seeing incredibly blurry partial shapes…

Also different forums seem to have different new post indicator outlines now (from the same set that was gone through when that feature was implemented). Site Help and Bug Reports as well as the Department of Creativity have the minimal outline, while Scriptorium has what was until recently the common.

Aaand now Scriptorium has it too. Did I seriously catch a code change between opening posts sequentially in two adjacent tabs?

Ok no it couldn't've been that, Dept of Creativity had it 8 hours ago while Thry's Speak in Your Conlang Thread post didn't. But Sam's does.

I figure it is people with avatars that are not suitable with being used as blurry background having a full blue post, with blurry backgrounds for other people blocking the blue.

Yep.

Post backgrounds
How do I set my post background?

If you have to do it, could you please set it to a vertically stretched/horizontally tiled Safirian flag, so it looks like one continuous tricolor?

Thanks in advance.

Also, an actual feature request:

Scaling image tags, preferably of the form [simg AAAxBBB]foo.png[/simg], which would produce a version of foo.png scaled to AAA by BBB.

External links
I've seen that some people have links to external sites in their profile - how do you do that?

By putting a link tag in your Biography, under "edit Profile". Like so: [URL|description]

Image resizing is trivially accomplished through CSS using the real image tag:

Right now, the only way to get a post background is by enabling profile backgrounds on your user page; go to where you'd normally edit it, scroll to the bottom, and click 'more' next to 'submit'. (I know it's janko-grade janky, but it's still sort of a beta feature.) The only profile background you can have is a stretched and blurred version of your avatar. If you haven't changed your avatar at all in the last three or four months, you'll need to re-upload it, ideally at a larger size.

I don't know if this has been reported yet, or if this is considered a bug (I'd rather not read through the past thirty pages), but the inline notes show up in the lower left corner of the browser window for me. (This is in Firefox 33.0 on Kubuntu 14.10) This is a problem largely because I can't see what the note says if it's linked to something, because the link location covers up the note.
