quoting Travis B.:
I am having problems where I am having erroneous collisions upon trying to import entries into my dictionary, where the importer is saying that entries collide with other entries that do not exist.

My dictionary I am using.

Any entries in particular, or anything you try? Maybe one or two examples?

With a fixed dictionary there is as follows::

Failed: rag(e)- already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: ra already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: ćo already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: śa already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: tage already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: sa already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: rei already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: ku already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.
Failed: gi already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.

I compared the versions and then searched for each of these, I found:

Failed: rag(e)- already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.  doublet, lines 13 and 167
Failed: ra already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.    triplet, lines 215 270 and 428
Failed: ćo already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.    doublet, lines 226 and 323
Failed: śa already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.  doublet, lines 227 and 325
Failed: tage already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.    doublet, lines 288 and 382
Failed: sa already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.  1 entry, line 420
Failed: rei already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.  1 entry, line 234
Failed: ku already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.    doublet, lines 244 and 435
Failed: gi already exists. If there is no dictionary article by this name, you may still add it manually.    1 entry, line 441

Doublet meaning there were two headwords with identical spelling (either pastebin or Chromium doesn't recognize diacritics in the Find window, had to check through 332 <sa>s), and triplet 3.

Not sure what to tell you on the single-entry lines, but I found a few of'em at least.

I made another fixed version of the dictionary. Now the only entries that show up as being supposedly duplicate are the ones you mark as having only one copy.

While there actually was one more duplicate in there (rei), the rest were actually conflicting with words in other dictionaries. (Oops!) I've updated the test in the code to fix the problem, and the importer now gives you a link to the offending word if necessary.

I'll see what I can do about emulating true homophone support.

Custom parts of speech are now supported. Go to your dictionary and choose edit to set them up. It is necessary to do this even if you like the defaults; simply click "submit" to save them. If you remove all of them from your language, they will be automatically restored the next time you open the edit page.

As for emulating homophone support: perhaps add an undisplayed number to the name or something so that two homophones are internally beorht1 and beorht2 or something but they only show up as beorht?

Yeah... I was contemplating ways to cram them into one database record, but it's probably better just to do that, as I did with forum posts. A hidden unique number would be much less of a mess! I'll see about adding that tonight.

Yesterday new posts notices were sticking on the main forum page for something equal to or greater than an hour. They aren't displaying at all now.
*is attempting to report this, not complain about it*

edit: aaand of course now it's displaying for this post.

That is weird. Consider it collected data. Alas, it will take some time to get to the bottom of.

Just for clarity's sake, when all's said and done is the functionality intended to be that after making a post, that post will not trigger new post notices (for that poster only)?

Actually, how it's set up to work now is that you do see your own posts as new. The auto-redirect is supposed to guarantee you see and clear them immediately.

Ok. I hope the redirect isn't giving you too much trouble, then.

One issue I just noticed: the "languages" page takes you directly to the corresponding dictionary page and not to the corresponding wiki page. This is a problem if you have information about your language which is in "document" pages and does not consist solely of the dictionary, as then the user will not be taken directly to where they can see them.

These two entries show up in my dictionary as follows:
Tzešóγro. () n. DEFINITION
Tzešóγro. () n. DEFINITION

Are the bold parentheses supposed to have numbers, or not be there at all? Either way'd work I think. I tried messing around with spaces by the 1 and 2 but nothing useful happened.

ps - if it helps, when I put them in via the Importer they showed up in the SUCCESS page as Tzešóγro1 and Tzešóγro2.

Ok yeah, it's reproducing here. I think the code used to make [code]/<pre> mask the carriage return/<br> problem is bleeding out, the Long-v has two carriage returns between it and iránikv. It could of course be user error, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong if it is.
