Ethnicity and Locality
Anthologica Universe Atlas / Universes / Archaeron / Meisylvan Culture / Ethnicity and Locality

Wood sylphs are very ethnically fractured. There are thirty-eight officially recognized ethnic groups, all localized in pockets within Naisylvan territory.
The largest group is the i’Shelka of southern Shiekli with 28% of the population. Next are the i’Vodisen of Maeris Kol and the i’Palesh of Kaliba with 19% and 17% respectively. Most of the remaining groups are scattered around the Ashlands and Shell’s Edge.

Wood sylvan regions are mostly defined by the borders of their isolated forests. Each forest has its own traditions, legends, laws, and other cultural facets. The exception is the enormous meisylvan bastion known as the Meika i’Shelke (Groves of Shiekli). This sprawling forest is divided into thirteen distinct regions along biome lines, each with a ruling body and chief. Each isolated forest generally aligns itself with one of the groves.
