Well, no, they're not simply longer; you made an attempt at preserving the metre of the text (and so should anyone translating them), which is an added challenge; by contrast we haven't been taking the syllable constraints on the haiku very seriously. (I'm also pretty sure the sentence structure in the Odyssey intro is comparable to Nessari's original quotation of Anguipes.)

But by all means, do continue to make whole separate threads for big projects like that. I'm definitely still going to fill up my Prose & Poetry thread, despite planning to do these things here.
