Arrantes, top. The large region of plains and soft hills south of the Ruvai. It borders the Ruvai with river Sirle, its natural northern limit, while its natural western border is with the Otnent Sea, by the gulf of Orbarba. Its eastern limits are on a rugged region between the Trader Seas, with the Trader Canal on its southeastern edge, while the Vensayner Sea acts as its natural southern limit.

etymology: Dubious, but thought to derive from arràs "castle". This is the accepted etymology, since in older times the entire region was, for many years, a frontier region plenty of castles and fortifications.
