Is English in the early stages of losing pronoun case and verb concordance? (2014-09-19 14:21:08) :
That's a badly oversimplified version of the explanation for the me and him construction.
Consider the following two sentences I've found as Reddit post titles.

Me [26 M] caught my girlfriend [21 F] of 3 months with another guy a couple weeks ago.

Me [19 M] just ended a friendship [18 F] due to feelings of affection.

Somehow, only the 1s object pronoun seems natural here- "him" or "us" would sound a little odder- and then only when there's something causing a hiatus between the subject and the verb.[/...

Speaking of maps, any suggestions on how to figure out vector drawing? Aside from the obvious (googling it and/or potentially youtube tutorials), of course. I've only really done from-scratch bitmap work and you can only adjust so many pixels by hand before admitting you're wasting huge amounts of time.
In principle, MS Paint is adequate for mapping—all one truly needs is the ability to set RGB values of pixels individually, and the rest is one form or another of laziness. (cue[plus]or do i mean queue[/plus] jokes about butterflies, magnets, xkcd being funny, and so forth) That doesn't mean it won't be anguish or yield hideous results, though.
Can confirm both.
In an Anthropology course I took earlier this year called "Prehistory of the Americas", we actually briefly discussed the Solutrian hypothesis. That's the cross-atlantic thing as an origin for that otherwise European haplogroup in North America, along with claims that Clovis points were based on Solutrian points. But my professor presented it as pretty far-fetched. She said that more likely, that haplogroup was once more widespread throughout Eurasia, and so...
