I find it a little interesting that I've seen the Solutrian hypothesis criticized as racist and colonialist. Mostly because the migrants would have been Old Europeans. I mean, maybe there are racist subtext to the way it's discussed, but I've never seen something like "primitive Siberians never could have made the trip, it must have been enterprising White Europeans" or anything that smelled of such a sentiment.

No doubt racism in history (and historiography) is a big deal, but in the ...

More Theoryposting :
I've made some progress on implementing metathesis, but the process involves rewriting a lot of the code that does rule application, and there are some complications (the same ones I've had before, mostly - setting the right conditions under which to update the cursor).

But it occurred to me that I might be duplicating work: if I implement what is described in the above post, then I can treat the source pattern (the first part of the transform statement, on the left side of the [tt]>...

Huh. a judge has already signed my petition. Tomorrow I have to go down and pick it up, take it to the law journal, pay $45 to get a notice published, wait for them to send me an affidavit testifying that the notice was published, and then take that back to the court. Then I can be done.

Then I can send my forms to the Social Security Administration and get an updated card. Then I can go get a new license from the DMV, update my bank information, and talk to Human Resources.

dhok: shocking, kind of. Obviously portugese has all the words ending in -aõ, it's so simple.

Also, I kind of backed a moving van into a parked car a little bit. Just some denting, but I still feel like an asshole. No contact from the owner yet, though.

Not really an update (theorypost?), but I'm working on the metathesis functionality. Still gotta do some work, but I have an approach that should be fairly efficient and also powerful. Conceptually, it's straightforward so I can probably get it done this weekend. It does involve some substantial refactoring of the rule-application code, but I already have a lot of unit tests that should cover the relevant tests-cases.

So, basically the way we are gonna do it is as follows: when you writ...

Well, neither should this, but I'm kind of sad that the woman I kind of like lives 1300 miles away and it's kind of stupid to think that anything could possibly ever work out.

I like mine too. I also like that we can choose the rank system.

Good news tho, I filed my name change, and I helped my friend pack, and she found an apartment and we are moving her this weekend. So relieved about everything.

So, sort of good news, in that a friend of mine who was in an abusive relationship is still having to live in an apartment with her ex ( who continues to be weird and possessive and kind of needy, despite the numerous times that he's cheated on her) has probably found a place to live and we can move her this week.

I just feel generally powerless. I love herrrrrrr, but probably(?) not romantically, since she's straight and only 22, but maybe I feel like she's my little sister or so...
Is there a way to get the SCA to spit out all the intermediate changes? (Words should not have two tones and I am not sure where I fucked up.)
Not really, though I've thought about that. I can include a [tt]BREAK[/tt] command to terminate parsing in the middle of a file, so you can easily stop it without having to comment out half the file. Also, I could put in a lot of debug statements, since I'm using slf4j and just have it print a log.

Hopefully tho...

I've been quite busy and had a little time to work on the feature system. However, I did make a quick implementation of something that should be fairly useful and was easy to do.

I've added support for [tt]OR[/tt] and [tt]NOT[/tt] in rule conditions. This way, when two transformations might otherwise share the same condition, they can be expressed as a single rule, rather than two. The following rules will apply just at the should be expected to:
a > b / x_ OR _y
