Fantastic. Put those both on one page with a one-paragraph introduction and get me a pretty picture that represents either the story or the setting.

I'd say H13's Universe pic would be more than excellent for that already. Here's to hoping it's relevant.

I suspect that image is copyrighted by someone, but since it's been reposted across half the internet already it's probably safe to infringe upon. Finish the text, H13, and we'll put it up!

rhetorica: I specifically searched for free images and then tried as best as I could to find a person who might have drawn it

whoever originally did that has long since been deprived of his artistic sovereignty

Slow. I have had to run around a bit because I am starting Uni now and there is much confusion.

That... is fine. My life's like that too. Maybe we could go with another Matrix piece for October and revisit you later? His stuff's pretty good.

That is a good idea, because this text is still fucked up and I haven't had a lot of time to do something about that.

Okay, let us do something here. Unless somebody has something to nominate I figure we will use Matrix's article on Maikrosian Magic because it is the best candidate I can see.

Matrix, do you think you could do a one-paragraph summary & image? That would be swell.

The image already on the page should be just fine. It is the universal symbol for magic in the Salenzian world. Each triangle is one of the elemental schools.

As for the paragraph:

Magic on Maikros is powered by mana, a sort of field that mages draw from to do things like create fire, heal others, move hills, bend space, etc. There are three kinds of casters: studied, intuitive, and innate, in descending order of knowing what they're doing. There are also two ways to cast magic: spark magic, which is quick and dirty, and formulaic magic, which is complex and requires a lot of preparation. Otherwise, Maikrosian magic is divided into schools. There are seven elemental schools, shared across almost all cultures. Though, what exactly each school covers can vary from culture to culture. These schools are fire, water, earth, air, nature, light, and darkness. The only cultures that do not share these schools are those of the ansu, which instead have schools based on their gods. On top of these basic schools are the nonelemental schools, which are in some way derived from the elemental schools. This is an open class, subject to revision whenever a new school is invented. The nonelemental schools are known for being difficult to master, because they require using unfamiliar or overspecific concepts, unlike the basic, broad, well-known concepts used to cast elemental magic. Then there are the mana spirits - one kind for each element - who govern the Mana Cycle, with the intent of preventing its depletion, and so punishing mages who cast too-large magic. And the Underworld, which holds infinite mana, but has its own great dangers.

Right, that's up there until December.

It would be pretty cool if we could identify a replacement before then, because as much as I like Şerau Teršelainja the front page needs to change once in a while so that we don't look quite so dead.

Any prospective candidates? Izo, translation maybe? (I could help if you can't be arsed ~)

Which one would you suggest?

I said in #isharia (although you left the chat just before I posted it) that I may create a second universe; it would be the same as Taura, only in English. If you think some article or page in Taura.Cat is worth translating it tell me and I'll do the English version in the following days and I'll post it in Taura.Eng. I don't have much work right now, so it won't be a problem.

Like... I have a few blarg posts that are apparently good. That doesn't seem like proper feature material though.

They'd be just fine, honestly—it'd be nice to have a blog post where people are quickly directed to make comments. Or: there's the creation story you promised.

Failing that, I bet Taura could use some time in the sun.
