Pretty Scripties Showcase Thread (2014-06-04 21:18:27) :
Interesting choice of sample text. I used to have a script that looked a lot like that, but it was heavily featural rather than derived from a natscript.

Unfortunately, even though I wrote the titles of several documents in it, I can't find the actual key for the damn thing.
...although now that I think about it, maybe this other (non-featural) alphabet would be closer:

Sure; what were you hoping for? As a stop-gap I was envisioning people just using language pages to represent lects, and language families for macrolanguages. It wouldn't be too hard, though, to derive another chapter subtype specifically for lects.

And... no one's suggested anything, so I'm going to nominate [[Şerau Teršelainja]] and [[The City of Umam]]. Neither is perfect, but I think with a bit of polish either could be excellent. Thoughts?

As we are conlangers, it should go without saying that NIH is an all-consuming lifestyle choice!
For the record, the reason it's puking is because showing an index page currently requires loading the WF markup parser once for every definition. I'm pretty sure MediaWiki would've geglokúbezé rí ébamelaní nepro (gave war to your mother's lover's corpse-meat) long before 1000 markup parser calls.
I wonder if there's a way to force garbage collection in PHP...

Translation Challenge: Alhazen on the Scientific Method :
While Nessari's eye-watering [#153|218 Example sentences for translation] has enough literal, everyday language in it to sate the appetite for translation of any conlanger, it doesn't provide much in the way of complex sentences or general statements; the sentences are mostly episodic and brief. Jipí recently did a solid translation that addressed both of these issues, and I thought it might be neat to present it as a translation challenge here for the adventurous.

Sorry about the unscheduled downtime, folks—there were complications resulting from my efforts to resolve meficat's bug. I'm still working on it.
