Area of fictional landmasses (2014-09-13 23:46:58) :
[quote Rhetorica, Duchess of Space]The bar is about 43.6 pixels wide, or 21.8 px/km. Binarizing the image at a level of 229 (about half way between the water/land luminosities) gives 1011711 white pixels. That leaves us with 2128.84 km² of land.

EDIT: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25174231/how-how-to-count-the-number-of-black-and-white-pixels-linux-imagemagik-etc has some suggestions how to do that.

Normally all group members have full permissions (comment, append (or activate for scripts), direct (delete/rename/move), read, edit) on the group's possessions. Every page additionally has a "group" register of permissions with the same letters. If both are turned on, then the user can act. If one or both is turned off, the user can't act. This means, yes, if you want to prevent your group members from editing one of your collab pages, you can turn off 'group edit' on it and that will protect i...

Easiest way is probably convert it to greyscale then get a script to return the percentages of colors. Then just see how tall and wide the image is by that 2km bar, and do a little multiplication. I'm too tired to try it right now (I don't have the script handy), might see about it tomorrow tho.
Hell it might even work without converting it.

So, I have this landmass here. The gray bits, if you're somehow confused. I've also got a little 2km guide down there in the left corner. I have absolutely no idea how I can figure out the area of this landmass in km. Can anyone tell me what this area would be and/or how to go about figuring it out...

Clarification request, on group management pages the following appears at the bottom:
[box]Pages must consent to group members' privileges to be affected by them.[/box]
Does this mean each page needs to be enabled by whoever has main rights to it?
