Urm, IOL is the [i][u]International[/u] Linguistics Olympiad[/i] (yep, the wrongly-fitting order is intentional), so it's a bit difficult to call it a Polish equivalent of anything.

Also: I am currently goofing around in Gansu and will do so until the tenth, subsequent to which I will on the twelfth return to Switzerland. In the meanwhile I'll see if I can't find Tangut inscriptions here somewhere.
(NB: as far as I can tell this means that I will be sans internet on the ninth and maybe on the twelfth depending on how tired my eighteen hours of journey back to Switzerland makes me – but eeeehhhh I've spent longer...
