Well do just the noun roots look distinctly different, or do all the inflected forms also? if only the former, I wouldn't worry about it.

* Erĕl is a demigod of the people, if you will. He often travels the world, seeking out lone travellers to both gain and provide companionship on long journeys. While kind at heart, he is also a trickster god, and frequently play pranks on those companions; if they take it well, he typically leaves them...

Translational Faux Pas :
In this thread we give examples of sentences that, while grammatical, takes a different connotation when translated to another language.
I'll start with couple of Indonesian sentences.
In Indonesian, it's acceptable to ask how someone died. However, unlike english, the proper pronoun that should be used is "why" as in "Why did your grandma die?"
[g your grandma]nenekmu[/g] [g her dying]meninggalnya[/g] [g why?]kenapa?[/g]
Using "how" (bagaimana) instead of "wh...

Derivation ideas (2014-02-05 21:20:40) :
I tried adding some affixes for derivation of nouns from verbs, and ran into the problem that the nouns created looked distinctly different from other nouns, in that the vast majority of existing noun stems are a single syllable and the onset of a following syllable and a filler vowel to be added after that in some inflected forms, while derived forms are either bisyllables with a consonant cluster or long consonant after it and a filler vowel or trisyllables with a following consonant and a fil...

Yeah...
yeah...............
It's inevitable that inset stuff like that (they're called [style:font-family:monospace]float[/style]s in CSS) causes problems with box layouts. You wouldn't think they would, but they do! This is why Wikipedia doesn't float its tables of contents.
I'll rework the layout on news posts to have a bigger header, but there will probably always be at least one way to make ugly box-layout-related messes.

Oic. Good to know!
Tiny bug I found while pointlessly updating a blog post: [#109|an immediate box formatting tag] (ie [!box] - apparently brackets in the to-be-displayed link text breaks the link) in the body covers up avatars; I've seen other formatting, headings I think, do this partially before.

Derivation ideas (2014-02-05 12:31:23) :
Some varieties of Quechua has a suffix that means "one who shares ~ experience with sb." So town-SUFF = compatriot/fellow citizen; person-SUFF = neighbor; work-SUFF = coworker, etc. Similar to 'mate' in English I guess except a little bit wider of a semantic meaning.

The following script is a semi-joke script, as evidenced by the glyph shapes.

The larger glyphs are meant to be capital letters.
Now, this here is a script from my salad days, where I still have no ideas about phonology:
